We are looking for an Associate Travel Market Manager who has a passion for travel, is excited to learn new things, and wants to influence the creation of those memorable experiences for our Travel Agent customers. Is this you?
What you’ll do:
- Assist Managers and Directors with dayto-day operations, partner relationships for both hotels and ground operators of assigned products, including merchandising, training & education and providing resolution for escalated issues
- Manage and maintain adhoc projects for the department
- Lead crossdepartment initiatives and communication
- Develop and sustain strong partner relationships by providing relevant data insights and consulting services
- Manage profitability for your specific destination to obtain and maintain terms and conditions set by Classic Vacations
- Create presentations and present to external partners
- Review numbers and communicate to partners what they mean; strategize to gain more sales
- Negotiate contracts, rates, inventory on a daily basis of assigned products
- Create training materials for our internal and external customers
- Provide unique market insights (partner reports, competitive data, key performance drivers)
- Secure seasonal deals and dynamic promotions to support Classic’s merchandising and marketing efforts
- Market and merchandise opportunities to ensure crossteam awareness
- Travel: approx. 15% travel required for market visits
- Communicate with Operations and submit tasks for all hotels to be correctly loaded in the system as well as monitor that our system reflects correctly the hotel’s content and contract
- Make final decisions regarding client issues and vendor offloads
- Interact with Vendor Payables Department concerning reconciliation issues
Who you are:
- Associates/Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of experience in a similar industry role
- Advanced Excel and Tableau skills
- Strong analytical skills – not only working on numbers and statistics but able to articulate and strategize them with your partners
- Must have the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once, be organized, and work in a fastpaced environment
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experienced in areas of focus negotiation and hotel account management; relationship building
- High impact personality: intellectually agile, entrepreneurial mind set, empathetic in relationships
- Partner who works effectively across all levels of the team with a heart for mentorship
- Motivated, resultsfocused and metrics-driven
- Expert in organization and time management with a mastery over details
- Persistent when facing challenging situations and attending to all needed follow up
