The Travel Sales Specialist [ TSS ] is a position on the reservations team and is responsible to create, change and cancel bookings as well as meet or exceed sales per hour, conversion, call taking and quality standard goals as set by the management team. This is a call center position requiring you to assist customers from call queues for destinations you are certified in.

Responsibilities:

• Create, change and cancel pre-travel reservations
• Expected to establish rapport with customers, determine their needs, and provide solutions and recommendations on travel itineraries as well answer questions and address clients’ concerns
• Communicate with spoken and written messages that are clear, concise, and complete
• Responsible for achieving results with little oversight
• Recognize and effectively prioritize work to solve issues in an efficient manner
• Focus time and effort to increase sales to aid in the company’s profitability
• Complete a high volume of work, keeping a rapid pace without sacrificing accuracy
• Gradual certification on most of the destinations that Classic Vacations sells. Destination order and timeline is determined by management

Requirements

• Prior sales or travel experience
• Must be able to work in an exciting, fast paced, structured call center environment
• Strong time management and follow-up skills
• Proven proficiency in Outlook, Excel and use of the internet
• Effective and professional written and oral communication skills
• Timely correspondence with customers, vendors and co-workers, meeting established service level agreements
• Must be motivated, team oriented and able to work flexible hours
• Accept and handle an average of 2.0 call per hour each pay period
• Convert an average of 10% of calls to paid bookings per pay period (may vary by pay period)
• Meet the gross sales per hour goal each month as set by management
• Learn and master new destinations as determined by management
